It's OVERRR~. 4 days spent in Baltimore hanging with friends and selling our wares takes a lot out of us, but we do have fun. I'm illustrating some of last weekends events in journal comic form, but they aren't ready yet so I'll just make a regular update for the time being.

Like many people out there I grow curious as to what the natural habit of my online pals is like. And it's always quite fascinating when I do get an opportunity to see the domicile of a fellow internet nerdgeekchild. So seeing as my room is currently in an organized state I'll show a small tour of a few corners of mine.

Still alive! PAC Report.

Boyd- I am the MilkMan

Level 16 FFT Monk Migglie spawned from a conversation with [info]pembrokewkorgi.

I've been meaning to update for some time, but every time I'd sit down to do so I'd get distracted or just didn't feel like bothering and did something else. So I'll try and recap a few things.

I was at PAC last weekend, it's a small new convention. It was supposed to be a "21 & over" themed convention, so anyone under that age limit couldn't attend. In theory it's an interesting concept but due to a lack of advertising, and not considering the sheer amount of revenue people under 21 bring to a con it didn't go so well sales wise. It did create an amusing atmosphere of EXTREMELY NERDY and/or LONELY people desperate to make human contact. [info]soggytoast saved me from an obscenely chatty convention center employee.

None of us made very much money, and it was really slow all con long. But we all had fun just hanging out, drawing, and having sessions of Mario Kart. Along with quite a few trips to the surprisingly aweet dealers room. It was a decent little adventure. And I made a new XBLA gamer buddy. It was a fun con, but not epic so the report will be concise this round.

Some Pics. )

Aaand that's all for now, I'll post art tomorrow/today. And [info]miggliepants updated a whole bunch, go read it.

Ok, report time. Better get this all out before I totally forget. Though I doubt this report will be able to top my EPIC 2007 REPORT . I actually made cliffnotes Monday night so that I could make a more accurate post. You know the deal, VERY image heavy with photos and comic strips. And hello to new people watching this blog! I hope you all enjoy the hell that is my life and my silly drawings.

And now: Otakon 2008 and the Lonely Hearts Club Band. )

Rally ho-ho. Mostly an art dump.

Very productive weekend! Despite not being home most of the day all weekend I used my time well to get stuff done, getting up earlier, sleeping earlier, etc. Just like a normal person for once.

Hey [info]lovewin! Your package arrived Saturday, thank you! I really loved the accompanying illustration and note. I've been playing Chain of Memories off and on since it got here. =D

While running about Saturday I picked up issues of Ubu Bubu, Tiny Titans, Muhyo and Roji, and the latest Zatch Bell. I haven't bought comics in a good while, other than the ones I got at Mocca, but that's a bit different.

Art Dump, featuring Geek Ramblings. )

That's it for right now, expect more this week. I should rest, I haven't done much of that for days.

Tax season.

I'm pleased to find out that I get a hefty tax return this year! It balances out last years random as hell AUDIT very, very well. I'm putting most of it into my savings account, but I'm also thinking of getting one of these.

More tiny Migglie photos. )
Also, I'll be at New York Comic Con this Saturday to run about the place. Who else be goin'?

Ok, report time. I'd best put this together before my mind completely erases it. Cons blow by so fast it's so easy to forget everything really quickly.

Image heavy, but you get both photos and drawings this year. SO BE HAPPY.

Allright then. )

But it's coming, once I'm better rested I'll go on about Otakon weekend. Just a quick update until then!

Now, a few POINTS.

>San Diego CC departure time is in question due to awaiting job response status.

>Sales on prints/bookmarks were average, but many pricey, multicharacter'd Pokemon commissions made my wallet nicely plump.

>Volcan 300 is a sexy, sexy, beast.

>I need some more sleep, also donuts and coffee.

>Butter Muffins ([info]shiru04) linked me the greatest game I've played ALL YEAR. ROSE & CAMELLIA. Victorian era SLAP BATTLE COMBAT. With weak to critical hits, counter moves, and characteristic boss fights. IT'S AWESOME, be sure to view the "How to play" section.

>ALSO! [info]miggliepants updates weekly now, not counting the last 2 weeks because those were missed due to con preps. At least 5 people mentioned to me over Otakon that I should open the journal up for comments. I'll say again that comments have been allowed since MARCH. They were only disabled for the first 2 months because updates were sporadic. Feel free to comment on her life, you'll probably get a response. =D

>WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

Busyyyyyy. Leaving for Otakon in a few hours so I'm surrounded by a torrent of mess, bags, and art supplies. Also I'm hungry, so I should correct that soon.

I still have a few survival supplies to buy tomorrow/today, and I have to stop by Kinko's too to print out a revised signboard before meeting up with Steph and Graham. I took care of everything else from last weekend till' today.

I got a call while cutting my prints at Kinko's earlier for another job interview on Monday, hooray. AND I've gotta call Cassandra back today about that admin position I interviewed for last Thursday. Also with all the running abouts I've nearly forgotten to mention I'm also going to be at San Diego ComicCon next week. Cause with my schedule I dunno when I'll have another chance to, I still need to solidify my planned departure time, it's been iffy since I had to do so much running around this month and haven't had much time. But I'll take care of that when I get back from Baltimore, hai-ya.

Now to eat and get back to packing!
See you when I get back!

Spontaneous Cosplay GET.

  • Feb. 26th, 2007 at 10:55 PM
Sunkist- LOVE!

I was feeling all down & bleaghy due to work and stuffs, so Sammikins did some hot spontaneous Junko schoolgirl cosplay for me! GUAH <3 <3 <3
Her AC fandom is large, and character cosplay to make you happy is Spectacular. How many guys can say they've had a cute girl cosplay as their character to cheer them up? It makes me really want to cut my hiatus short and start working on Apple Continuum again.

In other news I went to New York ComicCon last Sunday for the sole purpose of meeting Landry Walker Of Little Gloomy/The Super Scary Monster Show. I had been wanting to meet him and Eric Jones in person for a long time as I've been a big fan of their work for a while, also I had done some fanart for them of Gloomy some time ago and wanted to do more. He was awesome, I gave him 2 originals of Gloomy characters I did a few months ago, and he gave me 2 signed issues of TSSMS. I was amazed that he'd wanted to contact me, and even moreso that he wants to put the pics I've done for them in the upcoming anthology, with another request or 2 before then, makes me excited. We talked for like over 20 minutes about their comics, my comics, which he wants to check out, comics in general, and got off subject and onto all other random topics. We went onto videogames and DS for a while, and I was stoked to find out he was also a big fan of Legend of Zelda, so were a few people in the surrounding line, even Jhonen Vasquez who showed up next to Landry a little later got into the conversation with us for a bit, it was COOL. Landry and Eric are both going to be at San Diego comic con so it gives me even more reason to go this summer, hai-yah!

Also, David's belated xmas package got here a few days ago, containing oldschool-ish PC classic Diablo II. My Mage hurls balls of fire like a pro. And the package also contained THIS. You ass! I will NEVER accept Ben-10 as quality animated television! It will ALWAYS be ghetto Mighty Max to me!

This goes right up on the wall as-is next to my Nightmare before xmas Sally.

Also that Franziska von Karma cosplayer from Katsu tracked down my AIM, wah I'm afraid. But she is fun to talk to. And a surprisingly good artist, which is neat.

Katsu- Con Reporrrttttt.

Well Katsucon's over n' done with, kinda glad. Next con/s I'll be going to won't be until summer so that's a lot of nice rest up & preparation time. I'm still tired though, but I'd better mention all this before I forget. This is gonna be long folks, so you might want to get yourself a nice cheese sandwich. (I'll draw a sketch request for the first person to get that 1990's ref)
Image heavy, you've been warned.

Adventure GO! )

And then life in NY resumes, Hoo-zah. I'll retell a bit of this in comic form when I have the time.

I like to make Waf-fles.

Ok All Over Migglie has been updated, with another page coming sometime tomorrow. I'm not entirely happy with the latest page's background, it seemed alot more solid in black and white, I prolly should have thought it through better. But aside from the oddness of this projects personal amusement, it's largely an excuse to practice & improve my coloring methods.

This page shows what I envision that loon of a Mother character from Animal Xing to look like, sans face of course. Very fluffy bored housewifish, apron and all. Because there's nothing right about the letters she sends.

Whoa!
Never have I wanted homemade Waffles more, I'm totally hungry now. Sammikins unearthed a wafflemaker in her basement that her parents used to use and has been making good use of it. Spending most of the night discussing Waffuh x Jams recipies and chocolate didn't help any. Now my head's wrapped around it and all I can think of is breakfast, and it's not going away until I have a waffle. Now specifically a Sammi waffle. <3

And it looks like from what I've produced for Katsu I'll be selling minis this year mostly, and some bookmarks if I get the supplies in time. I should have the bulk of it done by this weekend. Ey, [info]cheezyweapon I think I can brave the journey and cold on Saturday, if the supposed weekend blizzarding doesn't happen.

To bed!

I'M BACK!

Guu Sama- Naughty
GUH!

And so is the return of my header images.

My room is CLEEEN! I spent most of yesterday evening into the wee hours of the morning getting it all spic and span, the rug near my bed still needs vacuuming but I'll do that later since I have today off from my hell job. It was overdue for a cleaning, and I was tired of being ankle deep in eraser dust and pencil shavings. Everythings put away now, and it's a hell of alot easier to work. I had to clean since my nets been kinda wonky for a few days, so the cablevision dude had to come check it out, and a room of artist squalor isn't the most efficient work environment, so it was a good excuse to clean up.

Usually my room is in a tolerable state, but never that great. Since I'm way out in the brooklyn boonies I don't have many friends over. *sniff* At my old apartment I had traffic in my room just about every day, so I cleaned up on a weekly basis at the least, it was a good motivator to spruce up regularly. Those of you curious as to what my comp work area looks like check it out.

Whoa, A cut! I'm getting fancy now! )

Title? This don' need no steenkeeng title.

I am interested in - do tell me about

Yeaaah, nabbed this one from [info]amuckfiddy
Damn those leap years.

Back from a roadtrip to Maryland with the music group formerly known as ECAU. Twas' fun, though I was pretty fatigued through most of the trip due to some post-cold recovery. Feeling better now at least, now to clean up my room a bit since I've been neglecting it for a while, and start work on some more A.C. And my Batman minicomic.

Also have a job interview tomorrow afternoon in the city, another of the ones that always weird me out. It was an instant response, I got a reply within 3 minutes of sending my resume. It happens to me so freakishly often that I'd think I'd be used to it by now but I'm still not. Hopefully this will lead to a paying gig, it's getting annoying being called into all these well known creative offices then being dropped at the last minute because they decide to go with someone else. I've got 9+ years of animation studio, freelancing, and office experience, I'm qualified enough. XP So weesa see soon.

Now you get PITCHA'S!

My Viewtiful Joe shirt arrived in the mail! Get my geek on!
Cheeseburgah pleez!

And Bitey, my Hamster, just cause he's cute.
He's such a bastard.

Dat's all! Gotta upload some user pics next time other than the lone one of Charity Bazaar.

So here's an LJ, ewwwwwww lj, but it's mine. Mostly due to some mild guilting at the hands of
[info]punctuates Since details on what I do with my life are sparse. So I'll try to update this dealy now and then with stuff. Not emo-riffic whinings about my day since I loathe that, just whatever interesting thing may pop up from time to time.

That said, I need a new Barrel cactus.
WHY??
WHY??
WHY??

It's actually BLACK and has a physical consistency of a day old donut now. I can take care of dogs, cats, a hamster, leafy plants, even mini FREAKING PALM TREE for over a year once but I manage to kill a cactus? The plant that isn't supposed to die? Outrageous! Nutrageous! Three muskateers! Baby Ruth!

Either way I should make a trip down to the brooklyn outlet mall to do some grocery/necessities new plant shopping sometime this week. My room feels lifeless already without flora in it.
