I'll be leaving for Otakon at 3:30pm today. I'm already exhausted in anticipation! I hope it's all worth it and we all have a good time and make money for all of our toiling. It's the last con of the year for me so I want to unload as much merch as I can. And also get a few cool things in the dealer's room. Haha! Wasting profit! Oh, Wiggly. You so wacky!
But I am looking forward to seeing people and enjoying myself. And not having to worry about cons for a long, long time. One day I can retire from all of this...one day...
After this weekend things will calm down and I can catch up with comments I've wanted to reply to and make.

Catching up! Anime Boston went well, it's a really chill con with a lot of foot traffic in the AA. I Got to see usual convention buddies, and also got to finally meet
yuji_san, and got to see
hikaru_tanaka13 again! Ill eventually put up pictures I took.
Otakon's next month, then I have a nice long reprieve from cons for a while. Unless something comes up, which it usually does. I'd like to visit Metrocon if I could afford to, and SDCC.
Also, anyone interested in commissions? I'm open and ready if anyone wants something, I have a few to finish this week so I'll soon be ready for a new batch. Any takers? My rates and such are right here.
And now art.

Almost done with Anime Boston prep work. Print pick up was a smooth transaction. And I scouted around for a new travel bag. And bought a dapper Trilby. And I'm on little sleep since I'm attempting to reset my sleep schedule so that I won't be a mess this weekend. What a concept!
( Con art and stuff. )
Now to continue producing stuff. I'll be very happy when the day comes that I retire from conventioning. By retire I mean "Die in a freak accident at a convention".

I just needed to share that.

Blargh. Fuck you, Twitter! You make it too easy to update about nothing. You're a cheap and easy whore compared to creating a meticulous and classy Live Journal entry. But that aside, I'll start posting here too, AGAIN. And
shiru04 &
sw_inku say I should update more often.
What's been up? Job hunting. I didn't get the job with an advertising company that was coveting me for a while. In the long run it may have been for the best, the dude in charge had every element of "crazy eccentric boss" syndrome. What I appreciate is that unlike all the other crazy bosses I've had he KNEW that he was crazy and very difficult to deal with. I can respect that kind of self awareness. But aware or not I've had my fill of high profile nutjob boss jerkwads for a lifetime. So I'm sure I would have hated that job. I REALLY don't want to work for crazies any more. It amounts to nothing but frustration and an exemplary update to my resume. But I have enough of those by now so it's not worth what I have to go through anymore. This year is about progress!

Hey guys! Guess who's on very little sleep!? Seriously, it's been a busy few days what with Katsucon coming up this weekend. Right now I'm keeping myself awake to set my sleep schedule sort of correctly, fun times.
Almost got all my con preparation done, a last run about the city today should do it. I need to pick up my prints and some supplies. But I'm going to see if I have time to clean up my room and post some items on eBay too before I leave Friday morning. I have some new sales tactics I want to try out this year too, so we'll see how that goes. I had an amazingly ridiculous adventure involving getting my prints made today that involved a ridiculous fetch quest that had me covering a bunch of city blocks in a very short time, among other things. But it's far too stupid to retell. Just know that I should have least gotten a heart piece for my trouble.
My life is just ridiculous sometimes, that's why I have so much character! It was frustrating but the Transmetal Rattrap I won in an eBay auction arrived while I was out mucking about. So that helped. And I got a fancier display stand for my mini prints, since they have love, care and effort in them, unlike my older sloppily rushed prints. And I also got a separate case for them for organization's sakes.
( Alas, I should sleep. But lets show some art first. )

Taking a break from working on stuff to update. I've been too lazy to post for a while so I'm trying to break out of that current habit.
First off, new hobby! I've expanded my geeky hobbies into doing Let's Plays. If you're not familiar with the term a Let's Play is playing a video game while recording both the video and your own commentary. They have a tendency to be full of repeated failure and rambling commentary, sensible and otherwise. It's one of my favorite things to watch/listen to when I sit near my comp working on art stuff. So I started with a fun but horrible little play through of AstroBoy: Omega Factor for the GBA. So give a watch if you'd like to see me DIE CONSTANTLY, and also hear my voice and the nonsense/Fan ramblings I regularly spew if you've never had the pleasure. It's been fun! And it's been an enjoyable new past time. It helps me turn my game breaks into something sort of productive.
( Hey, there's art too. )
I've been keeping a steady pace and have 13 new updates roughed, 5 more and I'll have all of the current chapter sketched. I plan to pencil the hell out of them this weekend at MangaNext, Among other projects.
But for now back to woik.

Success! Making a note here, huge success!
I visited
sw_inku at work and she suggested we do a collaboration comic for 24 hour comics day great justice. I wrote and story boarded a script in under an hour, then we spent the next 9 hours working our asses off roughing, and inking 12 pages worth of comics, hell yeah! We officially finished at 12:16 AM this morning. 12 pages of comics in 10 hours, we are quite the awesome at the moment.
We're going to scan soon and Steph will text the lot of it. The we can unleash it to all of you, the lovely people of the internet.
But for now I'm gonna sit here until what's left of my energy expires. Art is coming, but in the meanwhile you can read
miggliepants which is being updated consistently.
And have some random art of a
shiru04 scarecrow with additional tape recorder. Handy for recieving packages of collectible figures while not at home.

I always, always, ALWAYS forget about it until like the same week it takes place! Nyaurgh! So I'm going to attempt to get some hourly comics done this coming Saturday. I doubt that I'll be going to Jim Hanleys and instead spend the day in the city drawing, so I'm planning on getting an early start.
In other news I'm looking for a new freelance job since my ongoing mobile phone illustration dealamajig is on hiatus. I think their re-imagining the entire department or something so I'll be notified when it restarts. Sucky timing too, because I was counting on it to pay off some of my geeky hobby collecting purchases. So I'll be making myself open for commissions soon, right after I take care of a few pending ones. So once that's all wrapped up I'll make an official post here and on DA with my rates and whatnot. I'm hoping for some crazy stuff, since those are always fun.
( And some art that's not by me. )
That's it for now, gonna try to get some sleep for an early start today.

Level 16 FFT Monk Migglie spawned from a conversation with
I've been meaning to update for some time, but every time I'd sit down to do so I'd get distracted or just didn't feel like bothering and did something else. So I'll try and recap a few things.
I was at PAC last weekend, it's a small new convention. It was supposed to be a "21 & over" themed convention, so anyone under that age limit couldn't attend. In theory it's an interesting concept but due to a lack of advertising, and not considering the sheer amount of revenue people under 21 bring to a con it didn't go so well sales wise. It did create an amusing atmosphere of EXTREMELY NERDY and/or LONELY people desperate to make human contact.
None of us made very much money, and it was really slow all con long. But we all had fun just hanging out, drawing, and having sessions of Mario Kart. Along with quite a few trips to the surprisingly aweet dealers room. It was a decent little adventure. And I made a new XBLA gamer buddy. It was a fun con, but not epic so the report will be concise this round.

Aaand that's all for now, I'll post art tomorrow/today. And

Ok, report time. Better get this all out before I totally forget. Though I doubt this report will be able to top my EPIC 2007 REPORT . I actually made cliffnotes Monday night so that I could make a more accurate post. You know the deal, VERY image heavy with photos and comic strips. And hello to new people watching this blog! I hope you all enjoy the hell that is my life and my silly drawings.

I've FINALLY managed to secure a new job. After over a year of going on a bajillion interviews at just about every type of creative and not creative company there is I finally got hired for a new position.
I now work for a fairly popular Trendspotting company, the type that deals in keeping up with fancypants/hoity-toity advertising ads, fads, media, and all that stuff for retail, corporate companies, and the like. And creates packaging, graphics, and launch products for magazine/tv/exhibition ads and stuff like that. I'm thrown yet AGAIN into the jack-of-all trades role since that's the type of job that life INSISTS THAT I MUST HAVE. So I'll be taking care of admin stuff and correspondence, as well as product photography and helping to manage and generate traffic towards the company's many media blogs. In other words, I'm going to be paid to do what I already do at work, and what I do at home on my own time, sweet.
I actually interviewed with this company last May and really hit it off with my new boss, but was turned down because she chose someone with just a bit more blogging experience. But I was called back last week because the person she hired has medical complications and can't do the job anymore, so she was eager to find out if I was still looking for a new job. The pay is much better than my old job, but less hours, but it balances out so I'm cool with it. I will be doubling up my freelance work to compensate though, just to be secure. This also means I again can't go to SDCC, that plan always gets derailed, always. But now I can save to go to Cali at a different time at least. I already told my boss about leaving for Otakon and she was cool with it. I can even work the day I leave for it since I'm within walking distance of out of state transportation.
Now I can eventually move out, FINALLY. And buy stuff again, and start saving for a Wii and a new MP3 player. And everything I've been denying myself for ages. I also interviewed twice at the Kidrobot toy company. But didn't get the job, I was BUMMED. Wiggly + international toy company=Orgasmic JOY. I own so much of their stuff too, and they even have a cellular phone wallpaper department, I was a perfect fit!

Very productive weekend! Despite not being home most of the day all weekend I used my time well to get stuff done, getting up earlier, sleeping earlier, etc. Just like a normal person for once.
Hey
While running about Saturday I picked up issues of Ubu Bubu, Tiny Titans, Muhyo and Roji, and the latest Zatch Bell. I haven't bought comics in a good while, other than the ones I got at Mocca, but that's a bit different.

That icon up there has nothing to do with this post, I just made it today and felt like using it. And it has little relevance in any context so it's not likely I'll get to use it often. Aside from that it's pleasantly obscure and wtf, isn't it? =D
Anyway, I was at Mocca last Saturday and had a neat time, got to see a lot of friends and met some new people too. I have to make a report about that eventually for The Scienteers or
( Which I talk about, here. )
I think that's it. And if you haven't done so already read The enigma of Amigara fault.

Man I should be asleep right now as I have an kill me interview in a few hours and a full day ahead of me, but I'm not jazzed for sleeping just yet. I also need to do some supply shopping today for some new lead refills for my pencil.
*Fun Fact* Wiggly has only bought lead twice in the last 6 years. Right after college he spent much of his graduation money on many wastes of time to fill the void until a job came along. One of which was a $3.00 SNES acquired at a church yard sale. Around $60 of those dollars went to a massive purchase of 2HB lead, which was just a little cheaper at the time. My student discount also helped a bit. The second purchase was last summer at a Staples one day with Craig. But I only bought 2 that time.
Now it seems like I'm nearly out so I'll likely get enough to last the summer in one go. I should get some new erasers while I'm at it, supply shopping is fun and necessary!
Shut up, Wiggly! Don't you have art to show!?

Bah, my productivity's been awful as of late. I need to fix that, it's not even video games or anything getting in the way I'm just in a slump.
Also! 13 Rupees, a Legend of Zelda Anthology is up and ready for ordering. It contains some work by many talented folks, oh and 2 pages by me too!

I'm pleased to find out that I get a hefty tax return this year! It balances out last years random as hell AUDIT very, very well. I'm putting most of it into my savings account, but I'm also thinking of getting one of these.

In other news I'm a little disappointed about today, I've been running around all week and haven't had too much time to rest. So I got really nauseous most of this afternoon, and spent half of the day in that horribly uncomfortable nausea sleep. It passed by early evening so I'm fine now, I just missed out on a few hours worth of work, gragh. I at least did this comic today.
I think I'll play some P3 then get back to drawing.
